About Us

Clifton Counselling’s owner Simon Hawkins has been working for nearly 30 years within multiple helping roles and agencies dealing with topics such as anger management, addiction, trauma and abuse, loss and bereavement, self-confidence and anxiety issues. 

Since the pandemic, there has also been a significant increase in the need for support around feelings of helplessness and lack of control, relationship problems and social media overload, as well as self-harm and suicidal ideation. 

Even more recently fear over the cost of living and rising fuel prices as well as increased conflict around the world has added to a general sense of unease and uncertainty which therapy can prove extremely beneficial in understanding and lessening the effects of.

He also provides training and supervision for other therapists and medical professionals.
Simon is a member of the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register as a counsellor, psychotherapist, supervisor and coach for both The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as well as the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCS) where he holds registered status and senior accredited status respectively. At Clifton Counselling we also work with fully qualified and insured associate therapists who hold the minimum of Diploma level qualifications and are themselves full members of at least one of the UK accredited counselling/psychotherapy organisations.
